The battle between good and evil continues… without any spoiler alerts in this post! The newest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, is worth the wait. Complete with TIE fighters, Stormtroopers, and Han Solo the film is reminiscent of the original trilogy by George Lucas.
The epic story resumes 30 years from the last as the Dark Side once again schemes to take control of the galaxies. The violence is heavy in relation to laser battles, explosions, and fighter crashes. While there’s little blood, there’s a lot of death. Light sabers are as deadly as in past films.
The PG-13 rating is a good standard for this film because of the violence and death. There’s little sexual content, one bar scene with drinking, and a few profane words. The Force Awakens can be a great conversation starter in regard to the forces of good and evil and how personal choices lead to darkness or light. Redemption is one strong theme in the movie.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens gets four out of five 1C13P hearts. It’s a nostalgic walk down memory lane with new twists and characters. My whole family enjoyed it. Overall, it’s a great addition to the Star Wars story.
