Love is patient…
Patience is a powerful parent practice. We want to be patient but we are not crazy about needing to put it into practice. So.. let’s get some inspiration on practicing parent patience and encouraging the development of patience in our kids.
Patience is a big deal when it come to loving well. It is the first attribute of love listed in 1 Corinthians 13, the Bible’s Love Chapter.
Through modeling and even direct training we can foster the quality of patience in our kids and in ourselves. Patience doesn’t come naturally for most of us. It is a heart characteristic to be developed.
Seize moments that stretch your child’s patience. When your young one desires a particular item, this may be a good time to allow for delayed gratification (wait for birthday, Christmas) or implement payment participation (doing a job to earn money to help pay for the object).
To love well patience is needed.
Love is patient.
